If you love bright, bold colors and shiny gold foil, you’ll love these wedding invitations! A collaboration between calligrapher Jenna Blazevich and designer/printer Margot Madison, the invitation suite features bright jewel tones paired with both gold foil and shiny metallic gold ink, a colourful floral envelope liner, and lots of pretty day-of stationery details!

Colorful-Gold-Foil-Wedding-Invitations-Jenna-Blazevich4 This entirely hand-lettered custom wedding invitation suite was a collaboration between Jenna and Margot Madison for the wedding of Cincinnati event planner Jennifer Trokhan. Jennifer wanted to work with a collection of vibrant gem tones and subtle hits of gold and aubergine purple.

The wedding took place at the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati, and the color story which began with this rich invitation continued through the day-of stationery and accommodating table elements. For the envelope liner, Margot and Jenna chose a print from Katrina Rocella’s Spoonflower shop.

She completed the envelope addressing, table numbers, place cards, and out-of-town guest cards by hand in her Julienne calligraphy style with gold ink.

The printed day-of stationery elements included hand-lettered menus, programs, and thank-you tags for guest favors and were screen printed by local Cincinnati printer, Jon Flannery at Cryptogram, all in a gold metallic ink.

Wedding Invitation of the Week

Happy Friday! This weeks Invitation Inspiration come from Amy Boyter of Papellerie . She designed this lovely letterpress and die cut Save the Date for Katie and Jay. This invite is over the top glamorous with a gold foil and grey ink on the invitation card. I love this combination of grey and gold. It’s so subtle, and combined with the geometric pattern, it just looks chic.

Gold-Foil-Black-Wedding-Invitations-Sandra-Picco-Design-OSBP5 These gold foil and black wedding invitations from designer Sandra Picco are absolutely stunning – and perfect for a black tie wedding reception! Sandra paired the gold foil stamp invitations with coordinating black and white accents and gold envelope liners. I love the contrast between the pieces, so glamorous.

Jennifer, the bride,  had been doing a lot of pinning and inspiration-gathering her wedding. A traditional church ceremony followed by a black tie-optional ballroom reception. Their colors were pink and black with touches of gold, so Sandra immediately thought that they should incorporate gold foil somehow. The brides preference was to not use pink for the stationery, so together they decided to go with a gold foil stamp on black paper.

Gold-Foil-Black-Wedding-Invitations-Sandra-Picco-Design-OSBP1 Jennifer and Brian were working within a budget for their paper goods and foil stamping the entire suite was too expensive. Instead they used foil for just the invitation and belly band and used a coordinating gold stock for the reception card and envelope liners. White reply cards paired with black envelopes and white outer envelopes tied everything together nicely and kept us within budget. A very smart use of their budget to get the high end look for less!

Wedding Invitation of the Week

I’m in love with these super sweet, rustic meets rock n roll wedding invitations designed by Cheree Berry Paper . The couple, Kalen and Parks, chose the Old Edwards Inn in the mountains of North Carolina, making theirs a destination wedding for both them and their guests. They both come from very laid-back families and wanted their wedding to be homey and comfortable, much like our families. There was never a stuffy moment about the wedding. It was elegant, yet functional and touchable.

The invitation colour palette is fun and fresh and is paired perfectly with a gold foil for the couples names. The muted wood grain gives the invitation some edge because its a totally different texture and colour. But it still fits with the overall look of the suite.

They paired woodtype text with a very modern script for their names along with some ornate filigree. A nice contrast and very visually appealing.

All of their stationery was printed with a letterpress and then their names were stamped with gold foil. Two very expensive techniques but the look is gorgeous!
