Wedding Invitation of the Week

unnamed I spent the afternoon with Funmi of FO Photography at the Art Walk on Whyte Avenue today. The Art Walk is one of my fav summer events because I love to see the talent from our local arts community. I have so much respect for these artists because they are constantly creating unique work, something you have never seen before – how cool is that?

Some of my personal favourites (and friends) on the walk are: Jeff Dekker , His illustrations make me smile. Jason Blower , I own many of his prints. And so does Don Iveson! Watch out for a possible collaboration in the next year. I heart YEG , Stumbled upon this super cool chalk board project. I love reading all of the different responses to why Edmontonians heart YEG. Mike Kendrick ,This guy is just rad. I mean, he is selling prints and buttons of dinosaurs wearing shads. Enough said.

So take some time this weekend to check out the Art Walk and support our artists!

Have you ever seen a wedding invitation printed on fabric? Did you even know that was possible? Well, yes, it is! There is something so romantic in these screen printed fabric invitations from designer Jessi Evans. Inspired by the natural beauty of the wedding venue, the invitation features a single color screen print on muslin fabric and fold-out enclosure, complete with farm-inspired illustrations.

I love the illustration of the barn which was actually the barn that Lauren and Paul would hold their ceremony in, surrounded by a wheat pattern and silhouettes of farm animals. So personal and unique to their wedding day.

Remember, when choosing your printing method, the sky is the limit. If you love this look, you can have it but it will cost more than a typical digitally printed invitation. But the look is absolutely stunning. And you can incorporate the same fabric into your table linens to tie the whole look together!
